Cumbria, the Lake District has been voted the most romantic wedding destination in Britain. Bracken Bank Lodge is a very special venue offering private, romantic and relaxed weddings.

You may choose to have either a Church or a Civil wedding ceremony.

Church weddings are held in your choice of four of our local country Churches. Our vicar is very friendly and will consider the merit of couples wishing to marry for the second time.

Civil weddings are conducted by the Registrar in the wedding room adjoining the marquee, in the Lodge or in the marquee itself. A garden room and a stone temple on an island on one of the lakes on the estate are awaiting a licence for weddings in 2009.

Both small and large weddings and receptions are welcome. There is even a special two night option designed for Brides and Grooms who do not wish to invite any guests.

An unrivalled professional planning service, for which there is no charge, helps make organising your wedding enjoyable and stress free. You can have as much or as little help as you like with planning your big day. A schedule giving timings and a detailed breakdown will be agreed and sent  to you well in advance of the wedding, giving you peace of mind that the day will go exactly as you want it to. A rehearsal of the ceremony is held the day before the wedding.

There is only one wedding per weekend and each is individually styled for the Bride and Groom.

Being at the Lodge for the whole weekend gives you plenty of time to prepare yourself, relax, welcome your guests and enjoy your celebrations.
