Boarding kennels

The Bracken Bank Estate has a well run boarding kennel situated close to the Lodge. The famous Bracken Bank gun dogs have been bred and trained here for generations. Overnight accommodation is in heated kennels and the outdoor daytime runs are in large grass paddocks, many in woodland settings.

Meals consist of quality fresh tripe and a mixture of cereals which dogs love. A dry complete biscuit mix can be fed to your dog if you prefer. Eating is one of a dogs great pleasures in life and we are generous with their food, please ensure you let us know if your dog is on a diet or must not put on weight whilst on holiday here.

Most overnight kennels have Vetbed bedding. Vetbed is considered the safest and most effective fabric ever developed for use in the veterinary profession. Vetbed is guaranteed non-allergenic, non toxic, non-irritant and will not support bacterial growth, the constant airflow keeps the dog in exceptional comfort. The unique drainage properties ensure the bed stays warm and dry. Vetbed has a feel similar to real fur.

To book your dog into the kennels please telephone the estate office. Please advise us of any health problems, behavioral problems, allergies, medication or any special requirements your dog has. We will ask you for the date and time of your arrival to bring your dog and the date and time you wish to collect them. It is useful if you take our telephone number with you whilst you are away incase your plans change. If you are delayed on a return flight and cannot contact us please do not worry at all; your dog will be well looked after until you return.
