Children At Bracken Bank Lodge

There are a wide range of days out and activities for children of all ages. Children may like to visit Beatrix Potter's house and the museums along Hadrian's Wall. At Rookin House the children's quad bike rides are always popular. Pony trekking around Lake Ullswater is highly recommended. A visit to Lake Windermere may inspire children to read Swallows and Amazons.

Children are most welcome at the lodge but please ensure that they are supervised at all times. There is a large pond in the garden as well as a stream, lakes and ponds on the estate. Trees and dry stone walls must not be climbed for safety reasons. It is worth noting that the dry stone walls you will see all over Cumbria can easily collapse as they have no cement holding the stones together.
