| About the Lodge
The accommodation's amenities include a gun room, snooker room and a traditional English bar with wood burning stove. Dining at the Lodge is a wonderful experience. Hearty breakfasts are cooked on the Aga. The formal Red Dining Room is hung with sporting trophies and ancestral portraits and is candlelit at night. The head chef has won many prestigious awards.The Lodge is centrally heated as well as having log fires. A range of individualy designed bedrooms await you at Bracken Bank Lodge. There is a romantic king size four poster room with ensuite bathroom with a cast iron roll top bath, it has a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the gardens and fountain. There are two stunning double four poster rooms overlooking the Estate and two single four poster rooms overlooking the cobbled courtyard. Two small but pretty twin rooms can also be used for groups who require further bedrooms. There are two old fashioned bathrooms with original cast iron baths and Ralph Lauren tartan wallpaper, one with a detachable shower, three further lavatories and a shower room. The beautiful Estate itself boasts a variety of unspoilt landscapes with lowland heath, heather, lakes, ponds and woodland all ringed with ancient dry stone walls. The wildlife is diverse and includes deer, red squirrel, badgers, water voles and great crested newts. Bird life includes buzzard, owls, woodpeckers, pheasant, partridge and woodcock. Wild orchids, rhododendrons and acres of blueberries flourish in an un spoilt landscape.
